Most of the children in the rural community suffer from malnourishment. The prevalence of under-nutrition among tribal children in India is high. The supplementary nutrition scheme will help the tribal/underprivileged children get additional nutrition (apart from that from Mid-Day Meals and home meals) and improve their health and nutrition status.
This project will ensure proper learning and education at the primary and upper primary level with the out-of-school tuition provided by trained tutors. This will increase the chance of better performance of tribal/underprivileged students studying in Government aided schools. The project will help the beneficiary children to enhance their overall quality of learning and education.
One of the major impacts of the project will be women’s empowerment in rural communities. The women from Self Help Groups will be managing the community kitchens – they will manage food storage, cooking, packaging, and distribution. They will assist in project implementation at the village level. All women associated with this project will be paid monthly wages.
Through this project, many 12th passed youths and graduate youths will get an opportunity to train themselves as tutors. The training program and their teaching experience will further help them build their career in school teaching.
It is very important to have an overall impact on the community. The tribal/underprivileged community in rural areas have always been neglected. The project includes out-of-school educational assistance, supplementary nutrition, primary healthcare, empowerment of women, and livelihood training for educated youth. When implemented in full scale, this project will lead to the development of communities at the village level.
